Ben's Bank special donations at Nuzzles & Co

Ben's Bank

While many of the animals that come into Nuzzles & Co can recover with standard veterinary care, some of them have significant medical hurdles. Despite their severe illnesses or injuries, these animals are eager to please and bond with their caretakers.

Unfortunately, the cost to treat and rehabilitate many of these pets is more than our non-profit budget can maintain. You can help these animals by making a tax-deductible contribution to Ben’s Bank Angel Fund. This fund, designated solely to support the medical costs for special needs cases, enables pets to receive the lifesaving treatment they require. Through Ben’s Bank Angel Fund, we are able to take in and treat these animals so they can then find their happy, forever homes.

Who is Ben?

Ben is a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees; a working dog that belonged to a local rancher. Last November, he was struck by a car and severely injured.  His owner refused to pay for any medical care and wanted him destroyed – their recommendation was to shoot him by the side of the road.

Thankfully there were several good samaritans who intervened and rescued the gentle giant. Billie Harsch stopped at the scene and has followed through as Ben’s guardian angel during his whole ordeal, and Dr. Carl Prior and his staff saved his life and during his 6-week stay at the vet clinic. They helped him stand, and then walk again. Utah Pet Rehab continues to work with him, giving him the rehab and exercise he needs to live as normally as possible.

Though he still has some neurological issues, Ben is able to walk, run, swim, and play.  Given the dire circumstances surrounding his rescue, Nuzzles & Co agreed to take him into our program and be responsible for his medical care and ultimately, his adoption to a new loving home. The entire community rallied around this amazing dog and his struggle to walk again. (See the Fox13 News Article about Ben here).

In Ben’s honor, we started a special fund, Ben’s Bank, so that we are able to help other animals like Ben who need expensive, specialized medical care that is above and beyond what our normal adoption program can afford.

Please consider helping other animals in need by making a donation to Ben’s Bank.
