For much of the past decade, Brian has devoted the six warmer months of the year to volunteering with Nuzzles. He has logged over 2,219 hours so far (and we’re still counting!) Brian has become a cornerstone of everything we do — showing up for Park Silly, our annual Nuzzles Gala, adoption events, snuggle lounges, and every wild idea we manage to dream up. When the weather cools, he heads to Kerrville, Texas, but during his time here, Brian’s presence is felt everywhere. He has a special place in his heart for the adult dogs and brings with him a sense of calm, warmth, and dependability that makes every event and day at the ranch easier and better.
Brian isn’t just a volunteer — he’s family. He’s so trusted that he even has a key to the ranch, often arriving before anyone else to let the dogs out for their first bit of exercise. When Brian’s with us, the air feels lighter, the challenges more manageable, and the animals happier. And when he leaves, his absence is felt deeply — both by the dogs and by every one of us.
Beyond his dedication to the ranch, Brian loves to bike around Park City. This year, while out on a ride, he was hit by a car when he was crossing Old Ranch Road, suffering a broken rib, bruises, and a fractured leg. But in true Brian fashion, he was back with us just over a week later, eager to return to the dogs, the ranch, and the work that fuels his heart.
Last Christmas, we surprised Brian with a custom Nuzzles puzzle, knowing how much he and his wife enjoy solving them together — a small gesture of gratitude for someone who gives us so much.
Brian, thank you for an incredible season. Your energy, organization, and “get-it-done” spirit inspire everyone around you. It’s a joy and an honor to work beside you. We love you, and can’t wait to see you when you return again next April!!
With all our gratitude,
Your Nuzzles Family
