Same Mission, Shiny New Name

For 25 years, as Friends of Animals Utah, our organization saved thousands of shelter animals’ lives. We worked day in and day out to reinvent the rescue process. We always knew rescue pets were the best around, but most folks still went to a breeder or pet shop when they were ready for a new furry family member. To change the misperceptions about rescue pets, we knew we needed to help them get in prime shape for adoption. So we swoop in and take them from kill shelters and put them through a sort of adorable bootcamp at our Rescue Ranch. Each pet receives top-notch medical attention, obedience training, socialization, and exercise. The result? An innovative and highly effective way to get them out of shelters, get them ready for adoption, and finally adopt them out to forever homes at our adoption center.

Recently, we decided our tradition of innovation was ready for its next big step. With the help of a smart, strategic creative team who donated their time and services, we moved to a full new name, logo, and look: Nuzzles & Co. Pet Rescue and Adoption. There were a few key reasons for this:

  1. We faced a lot of confusion about who we were.
    People mixed us up with a multitude of other animal organizations, and they didn’t realize we run both our ranch and our Furburbia adoption center. Now we’re united under one clear, simple, original name, so it’s easier to remember us, find us, and support our animals.
  2. Many people didn’t realize our Furburbia adoption center was a rescue.
    Furburbia looked a bit like a retail pet shop, but now our new name and logo make our mission clear with “Pet Rescue and Adoption.”
  3. It was time to freshen up our appeal.
    While our old name and logo did a lot of hard work for us over the years, it was time to update with something contemporary to help us appeal not only to people who already understand the value of rescue, but also to people who usually go to a breeder or pet shop. We know rescue pets are the finest around, so we wanted our look to reflect that.
  4. We wanted a look that was true to our local Park City roots
    The crafted, tactile, rustic yet contemporary look of our new branding felt authentic to who we are and the town that has built and supported this organization over the years. The look may be new, but it reflects us better than ever.
  5. We now have a unique tagline, Where Love Wins.
    It encapsulates the feeling and reward that come with rescuing a pet and sharing your heart with them. Pet lovers know this feeling, and we want to shout it from the rooftops.

We want our supporters to know that while our name is updated, our mission stays the same: to rescue and rehabilitate homeless animals who need our help, then find them loving forever homes.
